This week in Bexhill-on-Sea, live music returns to De La Warr Pavilion and other local spots with performances by comedians, soul artists, and bands across town. The railway station remains a key access point for visitors from Eastbourne Beach and nearby areas via the Crowhurst branch line. Events at De La Warr Parade include daytime art displays and evening gigs in spaces developed during the late 19th century under Reginald Sackville’s planning efforts.
On Thursday 24 March, a full-stage event marks an anniversary of community fundraising from past decades at De La Warr Parade. Informal comedy nights take place at a former school hall now used as an arts venue with tiered seating and access via the A259 corridor. Daytime craft sessions run at Glyne Gap Road workshops next to Egerton Park, where participants can design costumes using recycled materials during seasonal ecological exhibitions. These are drop-in events without booking required.
Evening performances include soul music at a former church hall near Crowhurst station, now used by a resident ensemble group that rehearses weekly. The town’s museum remains open during standard hours and is accessible via bus route X17 or Sainsbury's car park. Public toilets in Egerton Park are closed; those located downstairs may require attention for accessibility.
Venues include De La Warr Parade, Glyne Gap Road workshops, Crowhurst station area art spaces, and Sainsbury’s car park access points.
